A mammoth crowd thronged Yola, the Adamawa State capital, on Monday as former Vice President and Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, candidate, Alhaji Abubakar Atiku arrived the state.
Atiku, who was reportedly visiting his home state for the first time since he won the PDP presidential primaries, was on hand to receive over 1,640 APC defectors from Mubi North and Fufore Local Government Areas of the state.
The event which attracted the vice presidential candidate of the PDP, Gov. Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State, also had several other chieftains of the party, including the national chairman, Sen. Iyorchia Ayu, Atiku campaign spokesman, Sen. Dino Melaye, among several others.
Chief host of the event, Governor Fintiri promised to work tirelessly for the people of the state and the party, assuring that Atiku will emerge the next President in 2023.
