JUST IN! U-20 WOMEN’S WORLD CUP: FALCONETS THRASH CANADA 3-1 IN LAST GROUP GAME

Nigeria’s Under-20 female football team, the Falconets on Thursday morning, beat  Canada 3-1 to maintain a 100% record in the group stage of the world tournament in Costa Rica.

The Canadians drew the first blood early in the game, but Esther Onyenezide’s  two penalty goals saw the Falconets go into the break on a 2-1 lead.

Chioma Olise scored in the second half, to seal the victory for the Nigerian team.

Nigeria had earlier beaten France and South Korea to move into the quarter finals stage.
