Ukranian Heavyweight boxer, Oleksandr Usyk last night, defeated his British-Nigerian opponent, Anthony Joshua in a rematch held at the King Abdullah Sports City Arena in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
Usyk outpointed Joshua and won on a split decision, taking it 116-112 and 115-113 on two cards. The third judge scored 115-113 for Joshua in the match which lasted the whole 12 rounds,
Despite Joshua’s hard punches in the 9th round, Usyk showed impeccable character in the 10th round, clipping Joshua with heavy counter-punches to end the bout.
Usyk is expected to fight Tyson Fury the WBC heavyweight champion in December for the crown of undisputed heavyweight champion of the world.
