COURT OF APPEAL DISCHARGE, ACQUITS IPOB LEADER NNAMDI KANU, SAYS HIS ARREST IN KENYA WAS ILLEGAL

The Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja on Thursday, discharged and acquitted the leader of the Indigenous Peoples of Boafra, IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu of all the charges prescribed against him by the Federal Government.

The three man panel, ruled that Kanu had no case to answer and that the Federal High Court had no get jurisdiction to try him.

The Court also ruled that Kanu’s arrest in Kenya was illegal and did not follow due extradition process.

The Court of Appeal had earlier struck out eight of the initial 15 charges brought against Kanu by the Federal Government.
