AMAA: TANZANIA ENTRY GRABS FOUR AWARDS, EMERGES BEST FILM, GHANA’S ‘BORGA’ BAGS THREE AWARDS

Tanzania and Ghana won big at the 18th AMAA awards which held in Lagos on Sunday.

Tanzania graced the podium four times as it’s entry, Tug of War”, won the Ousmane Sembene Award for Best Film in an African Language’, ‘Best Actress in a Leading Role’, ‘Award for Best FilmandBest Achievement in Soundtrack’.

Ghanaian entry, “Borga” won three statuettes for Achievement in Screenplay’, ‘Best Actor in a Supporting RoleandBest Actor in a Leading Role’.

One of the numerous Nigerian entries, “Man of God”,came to the country’s rescue, picking two awards including, theNational Film & Video Censors Board (NFVCB) Award for Best Nigerian Filmand the “Award for Best Achievement in Costume Design

Ogo Okpue’s “A Song from The Dark lived up to it’s pre-event hype as it won the “Award for First Feature by a Director”, on the night.
