As you read this, there is tension over the health of Nollywood filmmaker and Founder of Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA), Barr. Peace Anyiam-Osigwe(MFR).
Anyiam-Osigwe who is the first female President of the Association of Movie Producers (AMP), reportedly is said to be in coma at a Lagos hospital since Sunday, January 8, 2023. Other sources however claim that she may have passed on.
Regarded as one of the pillars of Africa’s film industry, Peace instituted the prestigious AMAA awards in 2005, a platform which has helped in creating avenues for filmmakers to distribute and gain recognition for their works at major global film festivals.
A Lawyer and philanthropist, the filmmaker, Peace hails from the famous Osigwe Anyiam-Osigwe family in Nkwerre, Imo State.
