Grammy awards winner, Burna Boy, emerged the ‘Best Act in Africa’ at the 8th edition of the prestigious All Africa Music Awards, AFRIMA held in Dakar, Senegal on Sunday night.
Burna Boy also won the ‘Best Album of Year’ award, at the ceremony which held at the Dakar Arena in Diamniadio, Senegal.
Fellow Nigerian singers Wizkid won ‘Best Act in West Africa award’ while Davido was adjudged ‘Best Male Act in African Inspirational Music’.
Other Nigerian acts who won on the night include, Adekunle Gold-‘Best Act Group in African contemporary music’ and ‘Best Act , Duo or Group in African Pop’, featuring Davido.
The ‘Best Breakout Artiste of the year award’, also went to Nigeria’s Asake.
The event which featured performances from Psquare as well as Ghana’s Black Sherif, among other acts, saw Guinean singer, Manamba Kanye carting home the ‘Best Female Act in West Africa award’.
Ivorian singer, Didi B also went home with ‘Song of the Year award’.
