The Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Usman Alkali Baba will not be retiring midway into the general elections. Instead, he already has an appointment letter extending his term in office. The Minister of Police Affairs, Mohammed Dingyadi, disclosed this to State House Correspondents after the first Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting of 2023.
