ABIA APC GUBER TICKET: UCHE OGAH CONCEDES AS SUPREME COURT AFFIRMS EMENIKE

Former minister of state for Mines and Steel Development, Dr. Uche Ogah, has conceded the Abia State All Progressive Congress(APC) gubernatorial ticket.

This follows a Supreme Court ruling on Thursday affirming Chief Ikechi Emenike as the authentic APC governorship candidate in Abia State.

Ogah in a statement, said he was bowing to the Supreme Court while wishing Chief Ikechi Emenike good luck in the March 11, 2023 governorship contest.

The Supreme Court had affirmed Emenike as flagbearer, after Ogah challenged the judgment of the Court of Appeal in Abuja which upturned his candidature for the governorship poll.

Delivering judgement on the appeal, the Supreme Court, in a unanimous decision held that Mr Ogah’s appeal lacked merit.

It will be recalled that Ogah and Emenike had emerged governorship candidates in Abia State from parallel APC primaries which predicated a court case.

While the Federal High Court in Abuja declared  Ogah as the governorship flagbearer of the APC, the Court of Appeal, had affirmed Emenike, setting the stage for the tussle at the Supreme Court.
