ABIA APC CHIEFTAIN, SIR F.N. NWOSU DIES IN ABUJA

The National Welfare Officer and member of the National Working Committee (NWC) of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Sir Friday Nwanozie Nwosu, is dead.

A member of the NWC, who spoke in confidence, confirmed his death last night, reports The Nation.

He was said to have died yesterday in an Abuja hospital after a brief illness. He died at the age of 63 years.

It was gathered that Nwosu, who was discharged on Wednesday from the same hospital for an undisclosed ailment, went back yesterday for a routine check-up and passed on.

A former Abia State governorship candidate under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the late Nwosu was elected to the ruling APC’s NWC at the June 2022 national convention of the party.

Our source simply said: “It is true that we lost FN (Friday Nwosu) in the early hours of the day. He died in the hospital after being discharged yesterday (Wednesday) only for him to go for a check-up and he died in the hospital.

“The National Chairman, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, and other members of the NWC are yet to be informed.”

Efforts by our correspondent to get the reactions of the party’s National Chairman, Senator Abdullahi Adamu and the National Secretary, Senator Iyiola Omisore, were unsuccessful last night.

Both party chiefs did not answer their calls and reply to the text messages sent to their mobile phones.

Born 19th June 1959, Sir Nwosu hails from Mgboko Umuorio Community in Obingwa LGA of Abia State.
