Kelvin, brother of Oyibo Chukwu, who was murdered a few days before the Feb. 25 presidential and National Assembly elections, has emerged winner of the Enugu East Senatorial District election.
Kelvin who is the Labour Party candidate, polled 69,136 to beat Chimaroke of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, who scored 48,701 votes.
Kelvin was nominated about two weeks ago to replace his brother, Oyibo Chukwu, who was murdered a few days before the Feb. 25 presidential and National Assembly elections.
Kelvin’s win effectively cut short Senator Senator Chimaroke Nnamani’s dream for a third term in the Senate.
