The remains of Prof. Eleazar Uchenna Ikonne, the former Abia State governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, will be laid to rest on Friday, April 28, 2022.
Prof. Ikonne died suddenly at the heat of the 2023 election campaign at the National Hospital Abuja on Wednesday, 25th January 2023 after a brief illness.
The week-long programme, will commence with a Commendation service/sing song on Monday April 24, 2023. It will be followed on Tuesday April 25th, with a Day of tributes and Colloquium.
There will be a Valedictory Senate service at the Abia State University. ABSU, Uturu on Wednesday April 26th followed by interment on Friday April 28, 2023.
Born on 15th August 1956, Professor Eleazar Uchenna Ikonne was a Nigerian professor of optometry and a former Vice Chancellor of the Abia State University. He died at the age of 66.
He hailed from Agburuike-Nsulu in Isiala Ngwa North Local Government Area, Abia State.
