Kenya’s Emmanuel Naibet on Saturday, emerged winner of the first edition of the Abuja International Marathon, with a time of 2:13:45.
Benard Sang (2:13:49) and Ezekiel Koech(2:13:51), returned second and third respectively to make a clean sweep of the men’s category for Kenya.
Similarly, Bahrain runner Ruth Jebet emerged winner of the women’s category, returning at the time of 2:36:08. She was followed by Kenya’s Mercy Kwambai(2:38:17) and Ethiopia’s Dida Negasa(2:40:16).
Interestingly, Emmanuel Naibet who won the race, is the 2021 champion of the famous Access Bank Lagos City Marathon.
The marathon also featured the 10km and 5km races.
