Oluwatoyin Sakirat Madein has emerged as the substantive Accountant-General of the federation.
Director of communications, office of the head of civil service, Mohammed Ahmed, announced that President Muhammadu Buhari approved the appointment in a statement on Friday.
The appointment took effect on May 18, 2023.
Prior to her appointment, Madien was the director of finance and accounts in the office of the head of the civil service of the federation.
She replaced Sylva Okolieaboh, who was appointed as the acting Accountant-General of the federation after the removal of Chukwuyere Anamekwe.
Anamekwe was appointed in the acting capacity after Ahmed Idris was suspended over allegations of N80 billion fraud linked to him.
The new Accountant-General was born on 7th March, 1965 in Iperu-Remo, Ikenne LGA, Ogun state.
She obtained a higher national diploma in accountancy from the Ogun State Polytechnic, now known as Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta, a master’s degree in business administration from the Ogun State University, now known as Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago Iwoye aswell as a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in management finance by Walden University, United States.
