JUST IN! WHY STAR ACTOR YUL EDOCHIE WILL NOT BE AT THE 2023 NOLLYWOOD FILM FESTIVAL GERMANY

Organisers of the famous Nollywood Film Festival Germany(NFFG) and the Nollywood Europe Golden Awards(NEGA), have asked star actor Yul Edochie to stay away from the 2023 event.

In a letter, sighted by Thebladengr.com, the organisers said they were left with no choice but to cancel his attendance to the event following his attitude and continued breach of the contract he entered with them.

According to them, they had tried to reach out to Yul concerning their contract but the actor had totally blocked all contacts and have neither picked calls, returned the calls nor replied to texts. This the organisers said, “was not acceptable considering the many exigencies of planning the 21 year old event.”

“If you cannot reply to texts and calls, we see it that you are not in the right frame of mind to feature in our Nollywood Europe promotions and tours in which we create opportunities for Nollywood stars and stakeholders to meet with their fans in the EU,” the letter reads.

The organisers continued, “We understand that these are indeed turbulent times for you and your family and you need time to heal and move on. Kindly accept assurances of our continued friendship and relationship.”

However, Thebladengr.com gathered that just moments after receiving the letter, Yul sent a message to the organisers apologising for his inability to reach out. Our source said the actor cited the loss of his son as reason he may not be able to travel.

Meanwhile,  the organisers have lined up 23 entertainers and other influencers for the show. They include Ali Nuhu, Empress Njamah, Hon Omorede Osifo, (Former Edo State Commissioner of Arts and Culture and APC Deputy National Treasurer) as well as over 12 musicians.

The NFFG/NEGA, is an annual Nollywood event founded by filmmaker and Cultural Ambassador, Mr. Isaac Izoya.

The 2023 NFFG/NEGA is expected to take place from July 28 and 30 in Frankfurt Germany.
