

The remains of the late founding chairman of DAAR Communications, owners of Independent Television (AIT) and RayPower FM, High Chief Raymond Alegho Dokpesi, was on Thursday, buried in his home town, Agenebode, Estako East Local Government Area of Edo State.
Dokpesi was buried after a requiem conducted by Bishop of Catholic Diocese of Auchi, Most Rev. Gabriel Dunia, held at the playground of St. Peter’s Secondary School in Agenebode.
Thousands of Nigerians gathered in the coastal town to witness the interment of Nigeria’s pacesetter in broadcast journalism. Among them were, the Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke; the National Security Adviser (NSA) to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu; Edo State Deputy Governor Philip Shaibu; the senator representing Edo North in the National Assembly, Adams Oshiomhole; and the National Vice Chairman (Southsouth) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Dan Orbih.
Others included former Delta State Governor Ifeanyi Okowa; ex-Chief of Staff to former President Goodluck Jonathan, Chief Mike Ogiadomhe; erstwhile senator representing Edo North, Senator Francis Alimikhena; a former House of Representatives Minority Leader Ndudi Elumelu; publisher Ovation International, Bashorun Dele Momodu and a frontline lawyer, Chief Mike Ozekhome (SAN).
Dokpesi, died in Abuja on May 29 at the age of 71.
