That Tope Alabi is one of Nigeria’s most prominent Gospel artistes of all time, is not news. That she in the past, have been a subject to several controversies which has to do with her music, is also not news.
Right now however, the popular singer, is swimming in controversy over a song ministration she did few days ago.
Tope Alabi’s latest controversy, started after a video of her ministration with her backup singers went viral.
In the video, Tope Alabi was seen using the phrase, “aboru, aboye”, which have become a subject of controversy right now.
While many are of the opinion that the words are used by traditional worshippers in greeting their members and therefore not supposed to be used in a gospel song, others maintain that Tope Alabi is known for her deep rooting in Yoruba words. This set of critics maintain that she merely used the words in worship of God.
