



After a successful four-day event which featured screening of films, workshops, panel and round table discussions as well as industry sessions, organisers of the African Indigenous Language Film Festival (AILFF), led by the Founder and Executive Director, Osezua Stephen Imobhio, moved the grand finale–the first AILFF Award/Recognition Night to Freedom Park, Lagos.
The event which was compered by Justice Atigogo, saw ace producer cum director Tunde Kelani, veteran actors Jide Kosoko and Pete Edochie bagging Lifetime Awards.
Similarly, Recognition Awards were given to Mercy Aigbe, Mary Njoku, Frederick Leonard, Binta Ayo Mogaji, Ali Nuhu, Yemi Amodu, and MOPPAN President, Dr. Ahmed Sarari.



Governor of Edo State, His Excellency Godwin Obaseki was honored on the night with an Appreciation Award, for his contributions to the growth and development of the industry especially with the building of Victor Uwaifo Creative Hub as well as his other support programmes for the industry.


The same award was also extended to Malam Balarabe Ilelah (DG, National Broadcasting Commission) for the role of the commission in encouraging the airing of local content.
Some of the dignitaries that graced the event include, Edo State Commissioner for Arts, Culture & Tourism, Dr.Uyi Oduwa-Malaka, Executive Secretary, Lagos State Film & Video Censors Board, Mrs Adébùkólá Àgbàmínójà, Prince Jide Kosoko, Ayo Mogaji, Peggy Leonard, Jude Chukwuka, Ijeoma Richard, Chioma Nwosu, and Mr. Andy Boyo.
Earlier into the ceremony, guests at the award observed a minute silence for the late Chairman of DAAR Communication, High Chief Alegho Raymond Dokpesi.
