PROGRESSIVE EMPOWERMENT PROJECT FOR NIGERIAN WOMEN BERTHS IN LAGOS

Progressive Empowerment Project for Nigerian Women, Lagos State Chapter on Saturday 15th of July, 2023, held its inaugural programme in Ikeja, Lagos.

PEP4NW,  a laudable Empowerment initiative came on stream as a special gift of the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, to open a wider window of Empowerment opportunities for women across the country.

The Co-ordinator,  Comrade Olajumoke Omolola, an entrepreneur and environmental consultant who presided over the inaugural meeting in her welcome address, stated that the  Empowerment Project  represents a bold step taken to address the worrisome issue of empowerment amongst Nigerian women.

The Lagos State co-ordinator also stated that the time has come to re-write the narrative of the Nigerian women which will go a long way in giving women  access to financial support, build up a means of livelihood, achieve growth in their enterprise and lessen their vulnerability as well as increase their economic and financial independence.

The National Co-ordinator, of PEP4NW, Comrade Mrs. Ene Assumtemario Ogidi and the Chairman Hajia Zainab Abubakar in their respective goodwill message urged members to be good ambassadors of the Empowerment Project to make it take deep roots and consequently help raise the number of beneficiaries in their respective local government areas.

Those who attended the event, included members of PEP4NW  from all Local Government Areas and Local Council Development Areas  in Lagos State.
