The Dean of the Faculty of Law, University of Calabar, UNICAL, Prof. Cyril Ndifon, has dragged the university to court for suspending him.
Recall that the embattled Professor, was publicly accused of sundry misdemeanors, including sex for grade, by students of the faculty of Law, who protested in the school last month.
Following the allegations, the Dean was sent on suspension while a panel was set up by the university to investigate the matter.
But thebladengr.com gathered that Ndifon has dragged the authorities of the university to court, repudiate his invitation to appear before the university panel.
According to our source Prof. Ndifon is seeking a declaration that the Vice Chancellor of the university had no right to remove him as Dean of Faculty without a vote to that effect by the Faculty Board. He is also seeking a declaration that the panel set up to investigate his alleged misconduct was illegal and unlawful, as well as a perpetual injunction restraining the university authorities from interfering with his job and the enjoyment of all the benefits appertaining therefrom.
