COCO GAUFF BEATS ARYNA SABALENKA, WINS FIRST US OPEN TITLE

U.S. teenage sensation, Coco Gauff on Saturday, won her first Grand Slam title beating second seed Aryna Sabalenka at the U.S. Open final in New York.

Gauff, 19, who is seeded sixth at the tournament, won 2-6, 6-3, 6-2 at the Arthur Ashe Stadium.

It was a sweet victory for the American, who lost her first major singles final at the 2022 French Open.

With the victory, Coco Gauff has become the first American teenager to win the US Open since Serena Williams in 1999.

However, when the latest rankings are released on Monday, Gauff will rise to number three while her defeated opponent and Australian Open champion Sabalenka, will become the world number one for the first time.
