Bendel Insurance Football Club of Benin on Saturday, September 16, 2023, drew 2–2 with RS Berkane of Morocco in the second round of the 2023/24 CAF Confederation Cup preliminary stage.
The Monday Odigie-tutored boys were impressive in their performance against the 2022 champions and led twice in the 28th and 60th minute during the encounter.
However, the Moroccans showed champion stuff coming from behind in the 39th and 78th minutes to snatch a draw in the match played at the Samuel Ogbemudia stadium, Benin City.
Bendel Insurance will need to double their efforts in Morocco to survive into the group stage of the 2023/24 CAF Confederation cup when the two sides meet in the second leg of the CAF competition on September 29.
