The Police Council have confirmed Kayode Egbetokun as the substantive Inspector General of Police. The confirmation came as the Council holds its first meeting under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. President Bola Tinubu had on June 20, 2023, appointed Egbetokun, a former Deputy Inspector-General of Police (DIG) as the acting IGP, pending confirmation by the Police Council.
