Former first lady of Ghana, Theresa Kufuor, the wife of former President John Agyekum Kufuor, has died.
Aged 87, the ex-First Lady died on Sunday, October 1, 2023 after a protracted illness.
Theresa Kufuor served as Ghana’s First Lady from 2001 to 2009 when her husband was the country’s head of state.
Former President Kufuor and Theresa, were married in 1962. The over 55 years marriage is blessed with five children – J. Addo Kufuor, Nana Ama Gyamfi, Saah Kufuor, Agyekum Kufuor and Owusu Afriyie Kufuor as well as eight grandchildren.
