President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has requested the Senate to confirm three additional ministerial nominees.
The president made the request in a letter written to the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, and read on the floor of the Senate during Tuesday’s plenary.
In the letter read by Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, President Tinubu asked the Senate to confirm Dr. Jamila Bio, Balarebe Abbas and Olawale Olawande as ministers of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
The Senate President said the president nominated Abbas to replace the former Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai, who was not screened and cleared by the Senate due to security reasons.
Tinubu had on September 17, approved the appointment of Dr. Jamila Bio Ibrahim to serve as the Minister of Youth, pending her confirmation by the Senate.
The President had further approved the nomination of Olawande to serve as the Minister of State for Youth.
