After exactly 134 days in detention, the Department of State Services DSS, on Wednesday, freed the embattled former Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Abdulrasheed Bawa.
Bawa was released from the national headquarters of the secret police, ‘Yellow House,’ in Abuja, on Wednesday night.
Bawa was arrested and detained by the DSS on June 14, 2023, following allegations of financial impropriety during his tenure as EFCC chairman.
A viral video last night, showed Bawa being reunited with his family after the release.
It will be recalled that President Tinubu last month, appointed Ola Olukoyede as the new Chairman of the EFCC.
