The Alumni Relations Officer of the University of Calabar, Sir Dorn Cklaimz Enamhe, Ph.d, has congratulated Senate President, Chief Godswill Akpabio on his election into the Executive Committee of the Inter-Parliamentary Union(IPU).
Enamhe said by the election, Sen. Akpabio has shown that he is a jinx breaker and go-getter par excellence. He also expressed his believe that Nigeria will play big on the international parliamentary scene with the latest development.
He asked the Nigerian Senate president to use his passion for the well being of the people to ensure that the National Assembly delivers laws that will uplift Nigerians from the present economic and social doldrums.
Enamhe also told the Senate president in his message, that the entire Alumni of the University of Calabar are solidly behind him in the onerous task of leading the National Assembly.
It will be recalled that Sen. Akpabio who led Nigeria’s delegation to the 147th Inter-Parliamentary Union General Assembly in Luanda, Angola, broke a 59 year old jinx, with his election into the executive committee of the global parliamentary body.
The last time a Nigerian was elected into the executive committee of the parliamentary union was in 1964.
