CHINWOKE MBADINUJU, EX-ANAMBRA GOVERNOR, BURIED IN ULI

The remains of former Governor of Anambra State, Dr. Chinwoke Mbadinuju, have been laid to rest at his country home, Ndikpa Village, Uli, Ihiala Local Government Area of the state.

Mbadinuju’s funeral rites started with a lying-in-state ceremony at the Anambra State Government House, Awka. Afterwards, a commendation service was held at the International Convention Centre, Awka.

Anambra State governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, led a crowd of prominent Anambra sons and daughters, as well as dignitaries from all over the country, to bid the ex-governor farewell.

Those who attended the ceremony include former governors of the State, Dr. Chris Ngige, Mr. Peter Obi, Speaker of Anambra State House of Assembly, Somtochukwu Udeze, Ebonyi State Deputy Governor, Patricia Obila, Director General, South East Governors’ Forum, Senator Uche Ekwunife, Senator Ifeanyi Ubah, the member representing Ihala Federal Constituency, Dr. Paschal Agbodike, Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Solo Chukwulobelu, Chief of Staff to the Governor, Mr Ernest Ezeajughi, among others.

The late Mbadinuju governed Anambra from 1999 to 2003 on the platform of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP). Mbadinuju died on April 11, 2023.
