Ibom Air airlines, on Friday, took delivery of its first Airbus A220-300 aircraft.
The handover ceremony, held at the Airbus’ Mirabel facility in Montreal, Canada.
It was performed by the Airbus team led by the Chief Executive Officer, Benoit Schultz; Vice-President, Daniel Wenninger, Head Of Airbus A220 Delivery Center, Marc Arpin, and Cyrille Picard, Sales Director Middle-East & Africa.
The Ibom Air team who received the aircraft, was led by former governor Udom Emmanuel, who is also Ibom Air Founder, alongside top management which included Managing Director, Captain Mfon Udom, and COO, Mr. George Uriesi.
It will be recalled that the airline had, at the Dubai Airshow in 2021, signed for the delivery of 10 brand new aircraft from Airbus jets during the tenure of former Governor Udom Emmanuel.
The Airbus A220-300 has won praise from all around the world for its ground-breaking fuel efficiency, state-of-the-art features, and excellent passenger comfort and safety.
The aircraft may be configured for both short- and medium-haul commercial flights, and its maximum range is seven hours or 3,450 nautical miles.
