President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has directed that all impeachment proceedings initiated against Governor Siminalayi Fubara by the Rivers State House of Assembly led by Speaker Martin Amewhule should be dropped with immediate effect. Tinubu also directed Governor Sim Fubara to recognize Martin Amaewhule as Speaker and the other 26 members who defected to APC as members of the Rivers State House of Assembly.
