Nigeria’s Misan Harriman, is one of the hopefuls as the 96th Oscars ceremony sets to hold in March following the nomination of his film, ‘The After’ which he starred alongside another Nigerian, David Oyelowo.
The Nigerian-British photographer’s, short film, “The After”, has been nominated in the Best Live-Action Short Film category.
“Oppenheimer,” a sprawling examination of the dawn of the Atomic Age, got 13 nominations, followed closely behind by “Poor Things,” a feminist fantasy set in a steampunk world of mutants and male chauvinist pigs, which earned 11 nominations, just as “Killers of the Flower Moon,” a historical crime drama about a vast conspiracy to rob the Osage Nation of its oil wealth, received 10 nominations.
