Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has congratulated Nigerian-born filmmaker Misan Harriman, on his remarkable 96th Oscar Academy Awards 2024 nominations.
Harriman’s film, “The After,” was on Tuesday, listed among nominations in the “Action short film” category for the 96th Oscar awards.
The film which is currently on Netflix, explores the profound impact of loss and the journey of healing. It has garnered widespread acclaim for its poignant storytelling and exceptional cinematography.
Felix Otomewo, Senior Special Assistant on Diaspora Affairs to the Governor in a statement, said “the film’s inclusion in the prestigious Oscars is a testament to Harriman’s immense talent and dedication to his craft.”
Otomewo expressed his admiration for Harriman’s achievements, stating, “Misan Harriman’s success is a source of immense pride for Delta and Nigeria at large. His exceptional work in the film industry has brought recognition not only to himself but also to our state. On behalf of our amiable Governor, I want to congratulate him on this extraordinary accomplishment.”
