Former President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Olumide Akpata has won the Labour Party (LP) governorship primary election in Edo State. Akpata garnered 316 votes during the selection process at the Bishop Kelly Pastoral Centre in Benin City. The Deputy Governor of Abia State Ikechukwu Emeta who is also the chief returning officer declared Akpata as the winner of the election.
