The funeral rites of the accomplished folk music artiste, dancer, playwright, actor, visual artist and poet, Jimi Solanke, who died on Monday, February 5, 2024 at 81, has been released.
The week-long activities will culminate into the final buried on April 5 2024 in Ipara-Remo, his hometown of Ogun State.
As made available, the burial arrangements will commence with a Choral Concert at Ibudo Asa, Ipara Remo on Monday, April 1, 2024 alongside events like; Night of Tribute at Freedom Park, Lagos, Candlelight precession at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-ife, Osun State, Candlelight precession at Ipara-Remo, Ogun State and will come to an end on April 8, 2024, with a thanksgiving service.
The burial programme stated that April 1-3 has been designated for various groups, associations and professional bodies to celebrate the deceased, while Christian Wake Keep will be held on April 4 at Palace ground, Onipara road, Ipara-Remo and the Funeral Service at the Palace Grounds, by the Methodist Church Nigeria, Ipara-Remo, Ogun State on April 5.
