INTERNATIONAL FRIENDLY: MALI BEATS SUPER EAGLES 2-0 IN MOROCCO

Mali on Tuesday night, handed a 2-0 defeat to Nigeria’s Super Eagles in a friendly match in Marrakesh, Morocco.

Mali who are ranked 19 places below the Super Eagles in FIFA’s latest standings, opened scoring in the 18th minute.

Mali sealed the victory for the Malians with an 84th-minute strike from the centre of the box.

The Super Eagles loss was the first for Finidi  George who was appointed interim head coach last week following the resignation of Portuguese coach, Jose Peseiro.

Finidi won his first game 2-1, in a friendly on Friday, against the Black Stars of Ghana. The game also held in Morocco.
