The Executive Director of the National Film and Video Censors Board, Dr. Shaibu Husseini, led his management team on a courtesy visit to Emeka Mbah, CEO of Afia TV in Enugu, as part of his advocacy for a Smoke-Free Nollywood.
Dr. Husseini praised Mbah, a former Director General of the Board, for the “indelible and lasting legacies” he left behind, expressing his intention to build upon the foundational positives established during his tenure.
Mbah, humbled by the recognition, commended Dr. Husseini, saying, “I don’t think the Board has ever been more blessed than now with Dr. Shaibu Husseini at the helm. You are the most qualified person to reposition the Board.”
Dr. Husseini assured staff that he would follow Mbah’s path in prioritizing welfare, recalling staff comments during his tenure. He also acknowledged Mbah’s achievements, stating, “It’s on record that during your tenure, the Board had the most programs.” He added that they are reviving the online classification infrastructure set up by Mbah to support their shift from censorship to classification.
