It was a colorful spectacle penultimate Saturday, June 22nd, 2024, at Dallas, the United States of America, when the Umuokpu AlaNgwa USA, AUNU, held her first annual convention.
In her speech, the President of the association, Nwaokpu Lady Nneoma Eze-Amauwa, said the maiden Convention, tagged “Community Empowerment Through Skills Acquisition” was used to “prepare grounds for the major objective of the union, which is to empower women in their various stages of their lives by sharing resources and providing means for skill acquisition.”
The President revealed that the Exquisite Ladies of Umuokpu Alangwa USA Inc were already on the move to build a skill acquisition center at their land at Osisioma Ngwa.
While assuring that the association’s empowerment programme will take off soon, Lady Eze-Amauwa also revealed that the association’s membership had grown dramatically from the registered membership of 79 ladies at inauguration in 2022, to 118 members spread across 18 states of the US.
The event showcased dance, cultural exchanges, fund raising ceremony as well as classy dinner.
The event which had members from 18 states of the United States, and held at the Doubletree Hotel Dallas Richardson, 1981 North Central Expressway, Richardson, TX 75080, attracted a horde of guests and well wishers.
