ALIMOSHO MOBILIZES SUPPORT FOR ESV. ABDUL-AKEEM AYODEJI “EJALONIBU” AMODU AS CHAIRMANSHIP ASPIRANT LAUNCHES SPEED BREAKERS IN COMMUNITY

The people of Alimosho have pledged their support for Hakeem Ejalonibu Amodu in his quest to emerge the Chairman of Alimosho Local Government. This was made when Ejalonibu inaugurated the newly placed speed breakers in Church Street, Bameke Road on Saturday. The speed breakers, were recent adjustments to the roads constructed by Hon. Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire, Senior Special Assistant to President Bola Tinubu on SDG, with the intention of preventing fatal accidents that claim the lives of residents and commuters.

Hon. Orelope-Adefulire recently influenced tarring of Church Street Road, a very important development infrastructure project that benefits about ninety thousand inhabitants. However, there was need for a speed control after several accidents on the newly constructed road. So, Hon. Ejalonibu Amodu provided for and supervised the placing of the speed breakers. Residents in collaboration with leaders of the various Community Development Associations (CDAs) commended Hon. Orelope-Adefulire for the road constructed by her administration and Hon. Ejalonibu for his insistence on safety.

While speaking, Hon. Ejalonibu used the opportunity to appreciate the community and he specifically commended Governor Sanwo-Olu, the Lagos State governor who he referred to as “Mr. Talk and Do” for his frequent physical contact with the grassroots. He noted that Mr. Governor encouraged local politicians to ensure that the needs of the community should be their priority. He also applauded Hon. Orelope Adefulire for the Infrastructure work. Ejalonibu further affirmed that he aligned by contributing with the speed breakers as a commitment towards uplifting the standards of Alimosho’s development.

Hon. Ejalonibu then declared his intention to be the Chairman of Alimosho Local Government by asking support from the residents. ‘Alimosho is my local government,’ he said. “We have to be busy until its development becomes our responsibility.”

The people at the event appreciated Hon Ejalonibu Amodu works with Mrs. Yomade Akinyemi of Bamisile CDA, stating the need of the speed breakers in protecting children. She pointed out that she used to avoid having her children walk along, due to the speed at which motor bikes use the road. She further pointed out that the speed breakers have given much relief.

Speaking further, a community elder, Mr. Olayiwola Oginni commended Hon. Ejalonibu, noting that his leadership is in the mold of his late father Chief Ejalonibu who was popular in Alimosho as a safety and security conscious icon as DPO of Shasha police station. He said: “You are a true copy of your father who ensured that we were protected as a people.”

Another elderly man in the community Alhaji Abdulrajeed Adebayo similarly appreciated the efforts of Hon. Ejalonibu pointing out that he had always been active in community service not only in Alimosho but in any area he has lived. ”In his previous residence he was hailed for some important changes made,” Adebayo said specifically in regard to the newly installed speed breakers that the number of accidents have drastically decreased.

Community Leader Mr. Nurudeen Olayiwola representing Bamisile CDA’s chairman also appreciated Hon. Ejalonibu as a man of integrity, as well as a compassionate man. Adding: “I have known Hon. Ejalonibu Amodu for several years and I have known him to be a perfect gentleman. Through faith and hard work, displayed through the many years of service to the people, it is only right that he is supported in his political endeavors.”

The event also had a speech by Haon. Titilayo Akiduro Alafe, Ward D Chairperson of Alimosho Local Government who also applauded Hon. Ejalonibu’s effort as “Lifesaver” and called on the community for their support to vote for Hon Ejalonibu because he will again bring more development in Alimosho Local Government.
