Veteran Nollywood filmmakers on Wednesday, December 25, 2024, gathered to celebrate their late colleague, Mr. Chico Aziakpono Ejiro.
The event initiated by the boss of Virgin Organisations and the man who commercialized comedy, Dr. Opa Williams, held in Lagos.
Reports say, the event began with a Thanksgiving service at the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG Hagiazo parish, 40, Adelabu street, Surulere on Christmas morning.
Later that evening, the stars converged at Opa Williams residence for a reception cum Christmas party in honour of the late Chico.
The event had top industry players, Zeb Ejiro, Keppy Ekpenyong, Segun Arinze, Mahmood Ali-Balogun, Opa Williams, Fidelis Duker, Charles Novia, Mike Nliam, Fred Amata, Chief Emeka Ossai, Justice Atigogo, Paul Obazele, Francis Onwochei, Sonny Mcdon, Emmanuel Ogugua(Baba Otu), Zik Zulu Okafor, and Kingsley Omoefe in attendance.
Thebladengr.com gathered that the event was exclusive to late Chico Ejiro’s closest friends tagged, ‘West Coasters’. “West Coast “, was how Chico Ejiro’s office was known in Nollywood back then.
It will be recalled that prolific filmmaker Chico Ejiro died on Christmas Day 2020 in Lagos and was buried at his hometown, Isoko in Delta State on February 20, 2021.
