EDO POLITICS: PDP SECRETARIAT, INVADED SPARKS OUTRAGE, AS FOUR BEATEN, WOUNDED

The All Progressives Congress APC, has once again demonstrated its penchant for violence and intimidation, as thugs allegedly affiliated with the party stormed the Peoples Democratic Party PDP, secretariat in Edo State.

On Thursday, hundreds of APC-backed thugs descended upon the PDP state secretariat on Airport Road, leaving a trail of destruction and chaos in their wake.

Eyewitnesses report that the thugs chased away PDP administrative staff, inflicted injuries on party workers, and brought down the PDP flags, replacing them with APC flags.

However, the invaders claimed they were “recovering” the office secretariat, despite the PDP currently occupying it.

This blatant disregard for the law and democratic processes is a hallmark of APC’s tactics.

This incident is the latest in a series of violent attacks perpetrated by APC thugs in Edo State.

On Wednesday, a gunshot incident at the Election Tribunal sparked tensions, with both parties trading accusations where those close to the gun shooter identified the suspect as APC member

The PDP has accused APC thugs of invading their secretariat and destroying properties worth millions.

Tensions escalated as PDP Chairman, Dr. Tony Aziegbemi, was forced to lock himself inside his office for temporary safety.

This came after a group of APC aggressors stormed the vicinity, allegedly attempting to seize documents that could serve as proof of election rigging in favor of their party.

The rising tensions orchestrated by the All Progressive Congress party is creating an atmosphere of fear and uncertainty in Edo State.

Speaking with an artisan, Monday Aganmwonyi said the people of Edo State deserve better. They deserve peaceful and respectful political discourse, not violence and intimidation.

The APC’s continued resort to thuggery and violence undermines the democratic process and threatens the stability of the state.

It’s time for the APC to take responsibility for its actions and renounce violence as a means of achieving political goals where many say anything less is unacceptable.
