The Abia State PDP 2023 governorship candidate, Sir Okey Ahiwe has sent warm greetings to Christians across the country, particularly Abians as they celebrate the Resurrection of Jesus Christ.
In his Easter message, Sir Ahiwe urged Christians to reflect on the lessons of Christ’s sacrifice as they celebrate His Resurrection.
According to him, “If we meditate on the experience of Christ as recorded in the Bible through the period of The Last Supper, His betrayal and arrest, trial, sentencing, crucifixion and death, we would note that Christ personified some very deep lessons including atonement of sin, sacrifice for humanity, fulfilment of prophecy and victory over sin and death. We must reflect on the significance of these lessons, not only in celebrating His Resurrection but also as we pursue our diverse and sometimes opposing interests. These Divine lessons should sharpen our minds to be more discerning, rekindle our spirit of tolerance and peace, and energize our faith in greater prospects for the future.”
Sir Ahiwe charged Abians to use the Easter period and engage in deep introspection even as they celebrate, to enable them partake in the material and spiritual blessings of Christ’s Resurrection.
