FRAUDSTERS POSING AS REPRESENTATIVES TARGET INVESTORS–NNPCL ALERTS PUBLIC

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has issued a stern advisory, warning the public against fraudulent individuals and organizations falsely posing as representatives of the company.

In a statement released on Monday by its spokesperson, Olufemi Soneye, the NNPCL specifically cautioned foreign investors and international businesses to remain vigilant against such scams.

The company emphasized that all official dealings must be conducted exclusively through its authorized channels or business units.

“The public is hereby alerted to beware of unauthorized persons and entities falsely claiming affiliation with NNPC Limited. These fraudsters often demand fees for fictitious meetings with the company’s board, executives, or staff—an act that is both illegal and illegitimate,” the statement read.

NNPCL further urged investors to report any suspicious encounters to the relevant authorities, reaffirming its commitment to transparency and stakeholder protection.

“NNPC Limited remains dedicated to upholding integrity in all engagements. We encourage everyone to stay alert, verify interactions, and help combat fraudulent activities by sharing this advisory,” the statement concluded
