AFRO BASKET WOMEN CHAMPIONSHIP 2025: NIGERIA’S D’TIGRESS WALLOP RWANDA 92-45 IN FIRST GAME

Defending champions, Nigeria’s D’Tigress began defence of their title in the AfroBasket Women with a resounding 92-45 victory against Rwanda in their first match of the 2025 tournament.

At least five Nigerian players finished with double digits with Elizabeth Balogun top-scoring in the match making 18pts, while Victoria Macaulay marked her return to the team with 13pts.

Nigeria will play it’s second Group D game against Mozambique.

The 29th edition of the 2025 AfroBasket Women is holding in Abidjan, Ivory Coast from 26 July to 3 August 2025.

Nigeria are the defending champions, having beaten Senegal at the previous edition in Kigali, Rwanda.
