PRESIDENT TINUBU’S MEDIA TEAM VISITS STATE HOUSE PRESS CORPS, MOURN TRIBUNE’S DR. LEON USIGBE

It was a touching moment at the State House Press Gallery as senior media aides to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu paid a condolence visit to members of the State House Press Corps over the passing of Dr. Leon Usigbe, the respected Abuja Bureau Chief of the Tribune newspaper.

The delegation was led by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, and included Tunde Rahman, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media; Tope Ajayi, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media & Publicity; and Abiodun Oladunjoye, Director of Information at the State House.

The Team extolled Dr. Usigbe as a consummate professional and a familiar face at the Villa, noting that his absence will be deeply felt among his colleagues and the entire press corps.

Last week, President Tinubu had extended a condolence message to the family of the late Dr. Usigbe, the Tribune group and the state House press corps. In his message, the President had described the late Dr Usigbe “as a veteran Correspondent and professional whose dedication to truth, balance, and ethical journalism earned him the respect of colleagues, public officials, and readers nationwide.”

The President also noted that Usigbe’s insightful reporting and calm demeanour contributed immensely to strengthening democratic governance and keeping the public well- informed about the workings of the presidency and government at large.
