A former Secretary to the Benue State government Prof David Onu Salifu has described the death of Chief Audu Ogbeh as a monumental loss to Nigeria in general and idoma nation in particular.
In his tribute to the former two time minister and former chairman of the People Democratic Party, Prof
Salifu noted that Chief Audu Ogbeh “was more than an illustrious son of Idoma land, he was a towering national figure whose intellect, courage, and vision left an indelible mark on Nigeria’s history. As a three-time Minister of the Federal Republic, former Deputy Speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly, and a statesman of uncommon depth, he served with dignity, wisdom, and an unwavering commitment to the common good.
According to the professor of public admin at the Federal University Wukari hinted that “beyond the corridors of power, Chief Ogbeh’s passion for agriculture reflected his deep belief in self-reliance and the dignity of labor. A great farmer and an advocate for food security, he inspired generations to see farming not merely as a livelihood but as a noble calling.
“Ogbeh was an epitome of intelligence, humility, and patriotism , a man who carried the hopes of his people with grace and represented Nigeria with pride. In him, the Idoma nation found a voice, and the nation found a servant-leader of rare quality.
“Chief Audu Ogbeh’s legacy will endure in the fields he tilled, the policies he shaped, and the lives he touched. He has gone to rest, but his name will remain a beacon for those who believe in service, integrity, and the enduring power of ideas.”
