Veteran filmmaker, media personality and cultural Ambassador, Comrade Dr. Harris Udokama Chuma-Odili, popularly known as Ogene Ogbunike and “Eze Ọgbọnọ,” is dead.
A native of Ogbunike community in Oyi Local Government Area of Anambra State, Harris-Chuma reportedly slumped and died on Saturday at a public function in Ogbunike.
Confirming the death, his family, released a statement expressing sorrow and celebrating his remarkable life of service, cultural stewardship, and commitment to truth, justice, and community upliftment.
The statement reads: “With deep sorrow but total submission to the will of the Almighty and our ancestors, we announce the transition of our illustrious son, father, brother, community leader, and custodian of culture, Eze Odinana Ogbunike, Dr. Harris Udokama Chuma-Odili (Ogene Ogbunike), Founder of Anambra Core Media Advocates, who joined his ancestors on 23rd August, 2025.”
“As we mourn this irreplaceable loss, we also celebrate his remarkable life of service, cultural stewardship, and commitment to truth, justice, and community upliftment. We humbly request your prayers, solidarity, and support. Further details regarding the traditional and funeral arrangements shall be communicated in due course.”
