IBINABO FIBERESIMA’S ‘AMANYANABO: THE EAGLE KING’ ARRIVES THE CINEMAS

It’s D-Day!
‘Amanyanabo: The Eagle King’, a historical epic film produced by beauty queen, Ibinabo Fiberesima’s Queen Bae Studios, will premiere at the prestigious Odeon Cinemas, London, the United Kingdom today.

The film which pays cinematic tribute to the history and spirit of the Okrika-Ijaw people and Nigeria’s South-South region, is a story adapted from Dr. Alfred S. Abam’s book “King Ibanichuka (Ado VI)”.

‘Amanyanabo: The Eagle King’, is the story of Ibanichuka, a carefree warrior unexpectedly chosen by the mystical goddess Tamunoba to ascend the throne of Okrika. Charged with a cryptic prophecy to protect his people from impending doom, Ibanichuka’s reign becomes a turbulent odyssey of conquest and fragile alliances. His rule is soon threatened from within, as a cunning chief foments religious discord by advancing a supremacist Christian agenda, pushing the kingdom to the brink of civil war.

As tensions escalate, Ibanichuka discovers that his greatest enemy was never the rival who challenged him openly, but a far more insidious threat lurking close to his heart. The film culminates in a searing, heartbreaking choice that no leader or warrior should ever face.

The film shot in the creeks of the Niger Delta, tells a compelling story of love, honour, betrayal and sacrifice.

It stars international actors as well as a formidable Nigerian cast which includes Monalisa Chinda, Nkem Owoh, Sobifa Dokubo, Uju Okoli, and many others.

Amanyanagbo: The Eagle King is directed by Fred Amata, co-directed by Ibinabo Fiberesima and distributed in the UK by Evritfilms Ltd.
