BEN KALU HAILS IKPEAZU AT 61, SAYS HE ACCOMMODATED OPPOSITION, ALLOWED FREE SPEECH IN ABIA

Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt Hon. Benjamin Kalu , has praised former Abia State Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu, for fostering an environment of free speech and accommodating opposition views during his tenure. The commendation was made in a statement released by Kalu’s office to mark Ikpeazu’s 61st birthday.

Signed by Levinus Saintlevinus Okechukwu Nwabughiogu, Chief Press Secretary to the Deputy Speaker, the statement highlighted Ikpeazu’s exemplary leadership, noting that his administration created a peaceful atmosphere and upheld respect for all. “Ikpeazu’s government accommodated the views of the opposition and upheld the principles of free speech, allowing critics to express themselves without fear of persecution,” the statement read.

Kalu described Ikpeazu as humble and approachable, qualities that endeared him to the people of Abia State. He also commended the former governor for significant infrastructure improvements, which laid a foundation for sustainable development in the state.

The Deputy Speaker’s remarks celebrate Ikpeazu’s legacy as a leader who prioritized inclusivity and progress during his time as governor.
