The Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu, Ph.D, CFR, has extended heartfelt condolences to Mayor Lucky Igbokwe (Don Lulu), Chairman of Don Media Group, following the passing of his beloved mother and family matriarch, Dame Peace Onyekwulechi Igbokwe.
In a condolence message addressed to Mayor Igbokwe and his family in Umuahia, Abia State, Kalu described the late Dame Peace as “an extraordinary woman whose influence reached far beyond her home.”
He praised her for her exemplary leadership and enduring legacy, noting that as the Chief Executive Officer of Don Media Group, 2Flame Entertainment, and other ventures, she embodied “a rare blend of excellence, faith, and compassion.”
According to Kalu, “Her leadership was purposeful, her vision inspiring, and her humanity deeply felt by all who had the privilege of knowing her. We can boldly testify that she lived a life of service, nurturing others while pursuing excellence with grace and strength.”
He lamented that her passing is a painful loss not only to the Igbokwe family but also to the wider community who benefited from her generosity, wisdom, and love.
“In moments like these, words can scarcely convey the depth of loss,” Kalu wrote. “Yet, may you and your family find solace in the love she cultivated, the lives she touched, and the profound impact she made as a pillar of strength and inspiration within Umuawa Alaocha and beyond.”
The Deputy Speaker concluded his message by praying for divine comfort for the bereaved family and eternal rest for the departed matriarch.
“May the Almighty God grant you and your family peace and comfort during this period of mourning, and may her soul rest in eternal peace,” he said.
