WAFCON 2026: SUPER FALCONS BEAT BENIN REPUBLIC AMAZONS 2-0 IN TOGO

Chinwendu Ihezuo and Esther Okoronkwo scored in the first half as Nigeria’s Super Falcons beat Benin Republic’s Amazons 2-0 in the first leg qualifiers of the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Lome, Togo on Friday.

The Super Falcons dominated the game from beginning to the end in the match played at the Stade de Kégué in Lomé.

Deborah Abiodun made the crucial assists as both Chinwendu Ihezuo and Esther Okoronkwo finished in the first half to hand the Falcons victory in the game.

The Super Falcons will host the Amazons on Monday, October 28 at the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abeokuta for the second leg and a win will boost their ticket for the WAFCON billed for Morocco.

In the other matches decided on Friday, Ghana’s Black Queens beat Egypt 3-0 away, South Africa held DR Congo 1–1 in Kinshasa, while Zambia triumphed 4–2 against Namibia in Johannesburg.
